Week of May 15, 2017

                PTO meeting Tuesday, May 16 6:30-7:30 pm in the cafeteria


ELA: We are continuing The Lemonade War, a book about two siblings competing to make money with lemonade stands. We will be continuing an individual foldable project. We will look deeper at text structures, text features, and how stories are sequenced.

In writing, students are wrapping up their own fairytales.

No more spelling tests

Math:  We are continuing a Lemonade War Math Project. We are beginning our final unit on Fractions, as we prepare to move onto fourth grade. Please continue practicing math facts nightly.

Science: We will wrap up the schoolyear with touching on the topics of earth systems and patterns, motions of objects, and forces and changes of motion.

Vocabulary to discuss with your child: Water Cycle, evaporation, condensation, precipitation, collection, push, pull, force, friction,  magnetic  attraction, consistency, viscosity.

There will be a few quizzes on these lessons but no major assessment.

Social Studies: We are continuing to learn economics through the Lemonade War.
